ABOUT US

The Pit Stop Community Cafe was set up by Joycelyn Lee and Andrea Tan with three objectives:

#1 To Build

To build a platform for groups and individuals who want to give back to the society but have little to no knowledge on how to do so

#2 To Reach Out

To reach out to and assist marginalised communities through food and services with the ultimate aim of reintegration into society

#3 To Minimise

To minimise food waste through food rescue, redistribution & repurposing

What We Do?

#1) Volunteerism

The Pit Stop offers individuals, groups and corporate bodies the chance to serve through sponsorship and voluntarism in many ways and through various programmes.

#2) Reach Out

We reach out to our marginalised communities through food, most notably our Pay-What-You-Can Meals.

On Malaysia Day 2022 (16/09), we are completely changing our Dinner Service to Lunch Service

Henceforth, Lunch will be served at 1:00 PM every Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays.

We start a little earlier at 12:45 PM on Fridays.

#3) Rescue and Redistribute

We work closely with other soup kitchens and food banks to rescue and redistribute food to needy individuals, homes and/or organisations.

We save still edible food that would otherwise have gone to the landfill.

#4) Job Training

We offer on-the-job training as well as job placement for members of marginalised communities.

Our latest programme is the "Culinary Arts Programme for Underprivileged Youths".

We are always on the lookout for more empowerment programmes for the marginalised.

#5) Collaborate

The Pit Stop works with private and public organisations as well as companies to assist in providing food and other support services for needy and marginalised communities.

We have included training, job placement, counselling, hair cuts services, medical services and etc. in effort to reintegrate those who have fallen through the cracks of society
